Herbalife Extends Cycling Sponsorship to Norway and South Africa.
LOS ANGELES -- Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE:HLF), a global nutrition direct selling company, is extending its involvement in the sport of cycling with the announcement of two major new sponsorship deals.
The company will be the official nutrition sponsor of Team Hoydahl,
Norway's premier professional mountain bike team. In South Africa, Herbalife International has signed as associate sponsor of the 10th Pick 'n Pay 94.7 Cycle Challenge in Johannesburg, taking place in November, one of the world's largest mass participation cycling events and the second largest timed cycling event in the world, with approximately 30,000 cyclists from around the world expected. Herbalife cycling sponsorship explosion continues to rock the cycling world.
Five-man Team Hoydahl is currently ranked 3rd in the UCI European Marathon league and number one in its class in Norway. The team is made up of Anders Hovdenes, Ole Christian Fagerli, Truls Haugseth, Hakon Austad and Rune Hoydahl, who holds ten World Cup titles. Austad is the current Norwegian champion in MTB Marathon and Hovdenes won the Norwegian Championship in cross country in July.
The 1 year deal includes the 06' winter season and entitles the company to branding on team kit as well as other exposure opportunities including media and company appearances.
